Boats leave docks at 6:30
All WPYC boats can race
Hot dogs/hamburgers served back at the club after the race
What’s so extra special about this Beer Can Race?  Every participating WPYC boat will receive not one, but TWO entries into the Water’s Sails drawing.  Pontoon boats are welcome to participate. Details on the drawing are below.    Remember, Water’s Sails can do any kind of canvas work for your boat also.  So byob, bring a side dish to go with the hot dogs and hamburgers served after, and let’s race this Friday!

Joe Waters is giving one lucky WPYC member a $500.00 gift certificate, redeemable at his business, Waters Sails!  Here are the details:  Each time a WPYC boat participates in a Windward Point sponsored fleet event, that boat will be eligible to place a ticket into the drawing for the certificate. One ticket per boat per event.  The contest will continue throughout 2013.  The lucky winner will be drawn at the Annual Gala/Business meeting in January of 2014.  Alex Smith will have registrations forms available at each event.  We’re all looking forward to having a great time on the water this year.    See you out there!!!

WPYC’s annual Pig Roast is coming up!  Please mark your calendars for our most popular event.  Note we’re doing this at Wessinger Island again this year.  Hope to see you on the water!

Where: The regatta captain’s meeting will be held at the WPYC pavilion. The race finish line and pig roast will be at Wessinger Island, formerly Counts Island.  The finish line is off the east end of the Island.   Wessinger Island is directly towards Chapin from Bomb island. Look for the raftup.

What: All competing boats MUST register and pay the entry fee at the Captain’s meeting. Please bring a side or dessert to share. We will have a cooler to take all the sides to Wessinger Island before the race. Bring your own beverages. Folding chairs are also recommended.

Remember:  For all WPYC members: This race counts towards an entry in the Waters sail contest!

How much: Regatta entry fee is $30 per boat (includes 2 meal tickets), payable @ the captains meeting.  Meal tickets are $5 a plate for additional regatta crew and those not participating in the Regatta but planning on eating some great food at the Wessinger Island finish line. Kids under 12 eat free.

Needs: Anyone who would like to volunteer to serve food or help with the event would be greatly appreciated.

FIRST BEER CAN RACE AND HAPPY HOUR

Since we were rained out last Friday, join us for our re-scheduled  beer can race this Friday, April 26th.  Skipper’s meeting will start at 6:00 at the club. Boats leave the docks at 6:30.

This event WILL count towards the drawing for the gift certificate from Water’s Sails.   See info. on the drawing below.

After the race, hot dogs and hamburgers will be served on the pavilion at 7:30.    Bring  your own beverages, and bring a side dish to share with the group.

We are looking forward to a great summer at Windward Point!
